Welcome to life on the High Desert! Horses raised here in North Eastern deserts of Nevada have room to run building strong bones and muscle. Mix this with outstanding bloodlines and small herd numbers and you get quality animals. We are located at the foot of Pilot Peak near the World Famous Bonneville Salt Flats.
Painted Desert is run by two ladies, Devan (aka D) and Amber, with some help from our loving families. D is the primary in charge of all animal sales and information send her an email here. Amber is more behind the scenes and deals with web site updates you can contact her here if you have a link or web issue, or about the animals although she will probably have D get in touch with you for specifics. Our animals are available for film, photography, and other commercial uses. To get more information or arrange to see our animals contact D and she can work things out with you.
We are breeders of show quality American Paint , Arabian and Pinto Arabian Horses, working to produce modern All-Around Horses with proven, champion bloodlines, correct conformation, and exceptional dispositions. We strive for beauty and athleticism in our breeding program so that our horses can be shown at Halter or performance shows and also make great Riders. We have several lines we are currently working with to produce outstanding foals. We aim to produce horses that will mature to 15 hands and up. We are breeding performance paints, pintos, and next year (hopefully) will have one straight Egyptian out of our new stallion Malik! We like to breed Pinto Arabs for looks and endurance as well as their quick wit.

General Updates

DAMS & SIRES
Made changes by consolidating dams into just one tab. Also added more information and slicked up their info page. Put the new info layout on the sires page as well. Also added the sale pricing.

I am on a roll this week!
(1) FOALS
Now the foals have drop down menus as well. I also went through and linked the pages back and forth where the needed to be. I also added lots of information to the 2012 Foals and the 2011 Foals (Bred) pages. Be sure to check it out. The 2011 (Purchased) and back will be updated in due course as will all of the other horses. Be sure to just keep checking back as I am trying to do a little each day!

As a cool addition I took a little video of Zanna's movement. Here it is!
As an aside I will be on call for the next week and away from my computer. I may not get as many updates up during the week but I will try! Devan and I are talking about a trip to an aviary at the end of the week. I will see what i can do about getting pictures from that as well!

We had a new arrival today! Piper was born in the afternoon and is another medicine hat! She and Zanna look a lot alike but Piper was HUGE for her mother! Go see her pictures on the foals page, and for now here's a little video!
